2019 AGM - Lincoln & Districts Historical Society Inc., and 'How to research your house: Lincoln.'

Arts, Culture and Heritage

18th August 2-4pm at Lincoln Event Centre
Join us for our AGM and presentation by guest speaker, Dr. Christine Whybrew, Heritage NZ on 'How to research your house: Lincoln.'
Christine is a Lincoln resident and is interested in learning the history of our town and surrounds.
She notes: Every property has a story to tell, particularly private houses.
The stories of the designer and builder, but especially the first owner and his or her family can tell us much about the context of life in their time. While the stories of places of heritage significance are often treasured and inherited by subsequent generations, the stories of more ordinary buildings are harder to find. Christine will present methods for researching the history of land and buildings, using a local case study.
All welcome. Gold coin donation appreciated.
